Back in '06, before I met the Boy, I was in a breif relationship with a guy who had a king size bed and a latex mattress. I had never encountered a king size bed, or a latex mattress for that matter, but after that first roll in the sack I was smitten. The sex was awesome - clearly someone had taught this boy well - but what made it that extra bit fantastic was the fact that we could roll around without having to be aware of the confines of the bed because the bed seemed endless. And I swear I've never had such a good night's sleep: the latex conformed perfectly to the shape of my body, and I could toss and turn to my heart's desire knowing that the mattress would absorb all of my movement and not disturb my bedfellow. That boy turned out to be a complete fuckhead, of course, but oh how I loved that bed.
Now, at long last, I have my own king size bed and latex mattress. I got a new wooden bedframe and two bedsides on eBay for $590, which was a wonderful bargain. The seller even delivered it to me for free. I got that stuff back in early Feb and it's been clogging up my hallway ever since while I continued getting messed around trying to organise a mattress. I could have gotten one from any bedding store, obviously, but I didn't want to pay the $2400 most stores priced their latex mattresses at. I ended up getting one directly from a manufacturer interstate on interest free terms for around $1000 below retail. Four of my favourite words would have to be "below retail" and "interest free". There's no better way to shop, with the exception of shoping with someone else's money, of course.
So my bedroom is filled with a big bed and I couldn't be more in love. The Boy and I just need to get the hang of shagging on a mattress which sinks beneath our knees and it will be perfect.
